”I had the pleasure of having the Consul General of Switzerland, Urs Broennimann, as my 9th Diplomatic Dialogue guest for ACIR. Atlanta will be his last posting before retiring and he shared a wealth of information about his postings and Switzerland's views on neutrality and it's contribution to the global economy.

Urs Broennimann, Consul General of Switzerland, talked about many interesting topics during his Diplomatic Dialogue with Mark Pierson, ACIR’s Director of Diplomatic Outreach. He gave his perspectives on his diverse career postings that included Chicago, Peru, Bolivia, Estonia, Costa Rica, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Bolivia and Washington.
He told the audience that the U.S. has now replaced Germany as Switzerland’s number one export market and Swiss companies contribute to the employment of over 14,000 Georgians. He also explained the current state of Swiss neutrality in relation to the EU and the Ukraine conflict.
