On Friday March 10, Consul General Urs Broennimann and Trade Commissioner Kimberly Shulman of the Swiss Business Hub USA visited Medmix together with Vice Chairman of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce – Southeast Alain Lafourcade. The Swiss manufacturer of medical devices and other industrial products recently opened a $20 million plant in Oakwood, GA. The facility is Medmix’s new U.S. health care headquarters and could create about 200 new jobs in the region.
Medmix health care’s drug-delivery division will provide pen injectors and auto-injectors as well as pharmaceutical packaging services from the site. Its surgery unit will support sales of fluid handling devices, and the dental unit will bring manufacturing and customer service for fillings into the U.S. market.
Our representatives were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the new plant by General Manager & Site Leader James Kirk and Operations Engineering Manager Juergen Moller. Thank you very much and all the best on this new endeavor!
