A farewell to Ambassador Jacques Pitteloud

All good things must come to an end. After five years serving as the Ambassador of Switzerland to the United States of America, Ambassador Jacques Pitteloud has concluded his term at the Embassy and is designated to take on a new role as the Ambassador of Switzerland to Belgium and Head of the Swiss Mission to NATO.

Ambassador Pitteloud has been an invaluable asset to the Swiss-U.S. bilateral relationship. His dedication to fostering stronger ties between Switzerland and the United States has been evident in numerous initiatives, from promoting innovation and sustainability to strengthening economic partnerships and cultural exchanges. During his time in the United States, he has been inspired by groundbreaking research, innovation and entrepreneurship, transformed the Embassy grounds into a biodiversity haven, has become a fixture in the Washington, D.C. political, cultural and birding scenes, and as a result has made friends for a lifetime.
